Resort Overview

Les Arc is a combination of 4  separate ski areas. Arc  2000, 1950 1800, 1600 + Peisey Vallandry.

Arc 1950

The newest of the Arc’s having been built in the early 2000, it’s been constructed in a more local style than the other Arcs that people can feel are a little ugly. Lots or restaurants and  bars and shops to spend an evening strolling around. Not as lively as Arc 1800 if thats your thing.

Arc 1800

3 areas to Arc 1800, Charvet, Villards and Charmettoger, the latter area being prettier with wood clad buildings. Arc 1800 has a lively atmosphere so if you are after good apres then this is the one for you There’s also a skate rink and sledge track to kill yourself on:)

Arc 2000

Chalet style apartments using wood which helps a bit to disguise how big some of these building are, there’s a  good scattering of bars and restaurants

Arc 1600

This is the original purpose built resort, some say they should start again but thats a bit harsh, I guess there is an attractiveness to the mindset of 70’s  architects and what they thought was attractive. What’s  helped here with Arc 1600 is its more in the trees which is better for skiing on bad weather days, also helps to hide the building  a bit 🙂

Peisey Vallandry

2 villages that are now so close to each other that we may as well join the names together. This is not a purpose but resort like the rest , yes there are new buildings but there is some old and characterful buildings as well. This is a great location if you are thinking of asking the Le Plagne area as well as you are close to the cable car
