Resort Overview
Argentiere (1250m)
The historic village of Argentière offers a welcome change of pace from the lively buzz of Chamonix. While it’s more peaceful, you’ll still find a good selection of hotels, bars, and restaurants to enjoy. Reaching the ski slopes at La Tour, located at the head of the valley, is straightforward, though you’ll need to take the bus or drive to the lift station yourself.
Driving up the Chamonix valley really is something special. The whole valley floor from Chamonix to Argentiere is surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks, truly wonderful no matter what time of the year you are here.
Skiing
Ski wise it is maybe better suited to the more advanced intermediate and advanced skier. As said in our Chamonix resort guide this whole area is a little disjointed so not really possible to skip from one area to another, best to make your plan for the day in one place and max that area out and then move on the next day.
